Unleash the power of gratitude in your life
To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven
The Ug Contest (the "Contest") is open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States and its territories (except residents of Puerto Rico). Canadian contest participants must have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence and US residents must be at least 13 years of age. By entering this Contest, you (and your parents and legal guardians if you are a minor in the United States) agree to these Official Rules. This Contest is sponsored by Unleash Gratitude Inc. (the "Sponsor"). Employees and Directors of the Sponsor and its affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and immediate family members of (or those domiciled with) those individuals are not eligible.
Void where restricted or prohibited by law.
Contest participants can enter in one of two ways: the "On-line Method" or the "Mail-in Method". There is no purchase necessary to enter or win.
On-line Method: To enter the Contest online you will require a valid Ug card containing a unique Contest code. Access the "I Got an Ug" website located at www.igotanug.com where you will enter the code. Complete the registration form by filling out the other requested fields and following the instructions set forth on that website. To enter the Contest, your computer must accept cookies or similar technology which may be used by the Sponsor for the purpose of tracking entries into the Contest.
Mail-in Method, Canadian Residents: To enter the Contest without a valid Ug card and related code, Canadian Contest entrants must submit a 3"x5" card with the following information: your full name, complete home address, date of birth, email address, and home phone number including area code. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
By becoming a Contest entrant, you incur no obligation other than your agreement to be bound by these Official Rules and the Sponsor's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Valid Ug cards are one of the many benefits provided to registered members of the Ug website located at www.unleashgratitude.com.
The contest begins on the first day of each month at 12:01am EST and ends on the last day of the following month at midnight EST. Each valid Ug card will indicate the specific Contest Period to which that Ug card can be applied. Mail-in entries will be applied to the Contest Period whose second (ending) month is the same month as the post-marked date on the envelope. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate any Contest by giving notice during any calendar month in which case the Contest will terminate on the last day of that calendar month or on the date notice of termination is given, as applicable. Prizes will be awarded as stated below in the event of any early termination based upon all entries received prior to the applicable termination date and time.
Click here to see the number of prizes to be won in the current Contest Period. A maximum of one (1) prize will be awarded per household. Chances of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. A random draw for each of the prizes will be held on the first business day following the end of each Contest Period at 12:00pm EST.
Each prize will consist of an item whose approximate retail value is US$300.00. Prizes are non-negotiable and may not be exchanged or redeemed for cash. No assignment or transfer of prizes is permitted. The Sponsor reserves the right to make prize substitutions of equal or greater value.
Prize winners in Canada must correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question and each winner will be required to sign a declaration and release form required by paragraph 5 of these rules. The skill-testing question will be administered online. If the selected entrant does not answer the skill-testing question correctly or otherwise does not comply with these rules, the prize will be awarded to the next selected eligible entrant who can be contacted and correctly answers the skill-testing question.
Winners ("Selected Entrants") will be notified by email. In the event that a Selected Entrant cannot be contacted by email and/or telephone after three (3) attempts within seven (7) days of the draw for the applicable Contest Period, or if for any other reason the prize cannot be awarded, the Selected Entrant forfeits any claim to a prize and the Sponsor reserves the right to randomly select another entrant until the prize can be awarded.
By participating in this Contest, each Selected Entrant agrees:
A prize won by a minor (as defined by the jurisdiction of minor's residence) will be awarded in the name of, or to, the minor's parent or legal guardian, or as may be deemed appropriate by the Sponsor, in its sole judgment. The parent or guardian of a winning minor must execute all documents and agree to all obligations and undertakings on behalf of himself/herself and the winning minor, or the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
None of the Indemnified Parties shall be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of a Contest, including but not limited to errors in advertising, the rules of the Contest, the selection of the winner, or the distribution of the prize.
None of the Indemnified Parties shall be liable for lost, late, stolen or misdirected entries. No responsibility will be taken by the Indemnified Parties for any failure during the Contest related to technical malfunctioning of computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, the failure of any email, online or Internet entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from downloading any material in a Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend a Contest should a virus, bug or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of a Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of a Contest, including without limitation, the use of any computer software, mechanical or other devise to increase the number of entries submitted in a Contest shall result in all entries submitted by such entrants being deemed ineligible. Entries shall be subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
None of the Indemnified Parties shall be responsible in any way for the use of, or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to any prize awarded in a Contest. The Sponsor, its affiliates, related entities, partners, partnerships, principals, licensees, successors and assigns and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents:
As a condition of participating in a Contest, you (and your parents/legal guardians if you are a minor) agree that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, claims or causes of action arising out of or connected with a Contest, or any prizes awarded or the determination of the Selected Entrants shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively by arbitration conducted in the Province of Ontario, Canada pursuant to the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association, then effective. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will you be permitted to obtain awards for, and you hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damage, or any other damages, including legal fees, other than your actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering a Contest), and you further waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or your rights and obligations or the Sponsor's rights and obligations in connection with a Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and all proceedings shall take place in that province.
All federal, provincial, state or other taxes are the sole responsibility of the Selected Entrant.
If for any reason a Contest is not capable of running as planned and the Contest must be terminated prior to the end of the Contest Period, notice will be posted at www.unleashgratitude.com and the Sponsor will conduct a random draw to award prizes using all eligible entries received as of the termination date.
These Official Rules are subject to change without notice in order to comply with any applicable federal, provincial, state and municipal laws. The Sponsor reserves the right to amend or terminate all or any portion of a Contest at any time.
